Engineering

The Goodrich Engineering Leadership Program is a two-year, rotational program with emphasis in either Mechanical/Aerospace Design or Electrical Design.  Participants with a Mechanical Design focus typically have a BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or Engineering Science.  Participants with an Electrical Design focus typically have a BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

Participants will rotate through three eight-month assignments during their time in the program and assignments will vary by location according to business needs.  Participants will have the opportunity to work on assignments in Research and Development, Design, Analysis, Engineering/Technical Marketing, Materials and Processes, or Quality.

Typical assignments may include:

  • Research into new products or processes
  • Product and/or process requirements definition
  • Product design – conceptual, preliminary, and/or detail
  • Design validation and test
  • Stress analysis (mechanical focus)
  • Thermal analysis (mechanical focus)
  • Computational Fluids analysis (mechanical focus)
  • Circuit design (electrical focus)

Throughout the rotations, participants will be assigned a Program Mentoring Manager who will take an active role in the work and will assist in ensuring the development goals of the program are met.  Participants will also be trained in Goodrich’s Project Management and Continuous Improvement (Lean Practitioner) processes.  In addition, participants will have the opportunity to present the results of their accomplishments to members of senior leadership.

The mission of the Leadership Program is to develop future leaders of Goodrich by providing participants the opportunity to gain an understanding of the organization’s culture and environment, through day-to-day business activities and projects that will add value to the business by increasing skills, knowledge and talent.
