To better leverage EHS expertise among its 11 sites, Goodrich’s Interiors team established an internal audit team that travels to other sites to assist with EHS regulatory requirements and good management practices. Depending upon the need at the particular site, individuals with the necessary experience participate in brief, focused EHS audits. The audits not only provide a service to the site being audited by evaluating regulatory compliance, but the process builds capacity within the division for EHS auditors and allows for more effective sharing of good management practices. Since program was established, Interiors auditors have provided valuable assistance on a variety of EHS issues at three sites.
