Piston Housing Operation

Goodrich Aircraft Wheels and Brakes manufacturing organization at Troy, Ohio has machining, material finish and assembly capabilities.  Major equipment utilized includes computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines and laser cutting machinery.  Material finish includes heat treat furnaces, shot peen equipment and chemical processing (anodize and conversion coating).  The assembly area is responsible for the assembly of wheels and brakes from manufactured and purchased components.  This area includes the paint operation and final acceptance testing.  Other key areas that provide specialized support include a tool room for fabricating fixtures and prototype hardware, and a metrology lab for supplying factory gages, performing calibration, and coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspection.
