Future Applications
Blended Wing Body

We are ready for the future with technology to further enhance safe, efficient, clean and quiet flight.

Goodrich’s future engine control system product and process technologies are driven by improvements in efficiency, durability, reliability and environmental performance. Together, these elements drive down life-cycle costs.

The immense value of our experience, expertise and insight is equally matched by our vision for the future.  We continue to invest in ongoing research and development programs in electronics and software, materials, data/health management and fluid control to enhance our present systems and to develop the systems of the future.

As an example, we are working closely with the leaders in silicon on insulator component technology that will be the foundation of a complete obsolescence-proof, 200ºC component set to bring products to market. In the future, each Goodrich engine controls unit will have its own embedded electronics and be able to monitor its own health.

Our vision is computers sifting through our vast pool of service and manufacturing data 24/7 for previously indistinguishable trends. This will provide us with early warnings of potential problems, improve our techniques and enable us to provide predictive customer service that saves time, resources and costly delays.
