Urethanes
Urethane Hull Treatments can be used to increase ship energy management performance.

EPP develops urethane materials that enhance the ability of naval craft to move quietly through water.

Acoustic Coatings

EPP is a leading supplier of acoustic and energy absorbing elastomeric materials for military and industrial applications. Our energy management materials have been successfully used in underwater acoustic applications for submarines and surface ships. EPP is a strategic partner with the U.S. Navy research community for the development and characterization of submarine hull treatment materials.

Custom Formulations

EPP's hydrolytically stable underwater acoustic materials are custom formulated to meet specific performance requirements. These can be optimized to be energy absorbing or acoustically transparent over a broad frequency range and have a shore hardness range between 40A and 96A. We can also add a variety of fillers to our formulations to further optimize performance characteristics.

Castable Elastomeric Materials

EPP offers a family of castable elastomeric materials that are essentially transparent to sound in water. Our acoustically transparent materials can be used to encapsulate sensors in a tough protective coating, as part of an acoustic composite structure or by itself as an acoustic window. We can vary material properties such as operation frequency, bulk modulus, sound speed and insertion loss to meet dynamic requirements of advanced surface and subsurface systems.
