Goodrich Sensors and Integrated Systems operates extensive environmental test laboratories in Burnsville, Minnesota and Vergennes, Vermont. SIS has the capability to perform all aspects of development, qualification and certification tests for full system levels as well as individual component test and burn-in. The environmental test laboratories are equipped to perform a majority of RTCA DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 tests including:
• Temperature
• Altitude
• Decompression
• Overpressure
• Temperature/altitude
• Temperature/humidity
• Temperature/altitude/humidity
• Salt Fog
• Random and sinusoidal vibration
• Mechanical shock
• Shock response synthesis
• Fluids testing
• Hail impact
The Minnesota facility is equipped with advanced aerodynamic and icing wind tunnel systems that simulate real-world environmental conditions. They operate with multiple variable parameters that are critical to the design and development of all air data products. Tunnel systems are used for product acceptance testing, qualification testing and sensor calibrations.
The Vermont facility has an extensive electromagnetic effects (EME) test facility compliant with most commercial and military specifications including:
• MIL-STD-462
• MIL-STD-461A-E
• D6-16050-2A
• DO-160 SAE
• SAE AE4L-87-3
• SAE4L-81-2
