Goodrich Sensors and Integrated Systems’ rain erosion test facility incorporates 20 droplet spray nozzles customizable to specific droplet size and rainfall rates. The articles are mounted to a rotating airfoil capable of speeds up to 500 miles per hour.
The rain erosion test facility in Brecksville, Ohio is one of only a handful of test facilities capable of rain erosion testing in North America. The test facility consists of a 35-foot cylindrical silo with an attached control room. The silo houses the horizontally mounted airfoil section that is rotated with an adjustable speed of up to 500 mph. The simulated rain is provided by a series of adjustable nozzles mounted above the test section on a circular ring. The nozzles may be adjusted to provide the appropriate rain droplet size and specific rainfall rate.
Our test technicians are readily available to assist in defining your test requirements and support all of your testing needs.
